There is a much talked about way of "Not playing your last Stone". It is known as "Turning the Stone".

No one I have spoken to actually knows, for certain, what it is that you do. Usually they say something like. "I think that you......."

On the few occasions that I've been in such a position I've thrown my stone far enough to just cross the nearer T-Line, which does the job but does not fit the description.

Any ideas, I've even asked The Sheriff!

As I understand it, the stone is delivered from the hack in such a way that it cannot possibly reach the far hogline. Spin it or aim for the near teeline, the hand leaves the handle and the stone comes to a stop. End of shot, but if the stone does NOT pass the near teeline it can be played again!

That seems to mean that I've actually done something right, for the first time.

Thanks John ~ Must be a Record ~ Maybe someone has another interpretation which will put me back to Square One.

Wee Eddie I've heard it by some as " sticking it up yer jumper " basically throw it well wide or hog the shot .
