Sad & all that it may be to read on the impending closure (see RCCC website today)
is it really all that surprising?
I note that  "we will investigate ways that the facility can be retained" presumably there are enough curlers
in Argyll Bute & environs to make it financially viable? Don't think so...though maybe we could stage one
of the Majors there....(I also believe in the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy & Santa)

Sounds as if Jean is retiring since the boys said that they would keep Drimsynie open as long as she wanted to Curl.  I'll be very sorry if it goes 'cos it was our Province rink but it was also 2 ferries and 2 hours travelling time and it was a very expensive day out although the ice costs weren't high.  I was at the opening so I'll need to try and get up once more before it closes.

Sounds good to me - Province AGM and Social is at Cairndhow on 26th March and I'm going to that so maybe  on the Saturday daytime beforehand?

I played at the rink as part of a district medal game around 7 years ago.  I thought that the ice was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed my match there.  It's a real shame that the rink is to close.
