Hopefully someone can help with a question that came up the other day.
There was a rule change introduced   by the WCF for the release point when using a delivery stick. I know the CCA and USCA did not adopt the rule change, can anyone tell me please if the RCCC adopted the rule  (the stone must be released before the feet hit the T Line).

The RCCC did not adopt them, how could they when it is impossible to police both the release point and the feet/T-line at the same time!!

RCCC RULES

Curling Delivery Stick
4.   (a) The use of a delivery stick shall be restricted as follows:

(i)    May not be used in any ECF and WCF competition or
          Qualifying event, except wheelchair events.

(ii)   Players choosing to deliver with a delivery stick must
use that device for the delivery of all their stones during
the entire game.

(iii) The stone must be delivered along a straight line from
the hack to the intended target.

(iv) A delivery stick shall not convey any mechanical
Advantage other than acting as an extension of the
arm/hand.

It doesn't make a lot of sense for the WCF to introduce a rule for a piece of Curling apparatus which it doesn't allow Curlers to use Sad  - wheelies excepted but they are stationery at delivery.

Thanks for clearing that up, I agree it is a hard rule to enforce, have to have eyes in two places at once.

The WCF "Rules of Curling" allow the stick to be used except in WCF competitions or qualifying events. You must remember that the the Rules of Curling in the WCF rulebook are used by all WCF member associations as the basis of playing the game at all levels - hence all curlers playing in England for example or in ECA competitions have to abide by the rule about the release point using a stick.

So the WCF does allow curles to use the stick.

By the way the WCF qualifying events refered to in the rules are those such as the European or Pacific Championships and not national championships.
