I am a 21 year old female looking to join a scottish squad for the 2009/2010 season.  I am based in the scottish borders and play out of Kelso so there are no squads at all.  I am willing to travel alot to train and compete.
At present i curle about 5 times a week in club games and in competitive curling.  I like playing lead and second in competition.  I have had several sucesses this year including qualifying for RCCC championship in March, amd winning the club championship (mixed Pairs).

I am looking for any ideas of who to contact or information of people looking for a team member. Please help!!!
Thanks megan Grin

Hi, and welcome to the forum.  Have you spoken to your Area Curling Development Officer?  I would have thought that he would know of any local teams searching for new talent.
He  might also be able to direct you towards any training initiatives available around the rinks which he deals with.

Hiya, and thank you.  I have spoken to my development officer.  There are no teams going out of my local rink at all and he says that he doesnt know of any teams elsewhere.  I am going to some competitions at other rinks towards the end of the season eg RCCC rink champs and ladys unders and overs.  I recently went to the masterclass at ayr where i met a few people who gave me some pointers and advice but unfortunetly that doesnt seem to have come to anything yet.
I missed out on doing juniors this year by just a few days due to my age and i realise that is how most squads find a team.  So i just need to find a way to get my foot on the ladder without going throught the junior system.
Thanks megan

There are some ladies on this forum who seem to Curl at the level you are looking for.  If they don't want to post in case it upsets their current team then I am sure that a personal message might help you.
