This is only the second time I've posted and I didn't properly introduce myself before...so this seems like the logical place to continue.
I just returned home to Saskatchewan, Canada after more than 3 weeks touring your country, curling in various locales. I was part of a 40-man Team Canada participating in the Strathcona Cup competition. I'm happy to say we were successful in wresting the cup from the Scots' tenacious grip but the outcome is almost incidental to the tour experience itself. Regardless of whether we had won or lost, none of us will ever forget the superb reception and hospitality we received, wherever we went.
In Scotland and in Canada, we, the ordinary club curlers, are the foundation of this great game. Without us, the sport would be dead. The intent of the Strathcona competiton is to foster fellowship and strengthen bonds of friendship among the "ordinary" curlers in our countries and you folks certainly accomplished that.
Thank you, Scot curlers, for everything you did to make us welcome and to reaffirm what the roaring game is REALLY all about.
