I'm all for Colourful Curling, after all I was a Hippie and then one of the New Romantics (Frock Coats, High Heeeled Boots and Lace Cravats, etc), but I do think that "Good Taste" should rear it's ugly head at some point.

Eddie it might have made a fashion statement at the time but the Frock Coat was no doubt Black or did you go for red or dark blue velvet. That might have been class. Never mind Happy memories! Think drainpipes and winkle pickers before Flairs appeared! One thought we were the Bees knees. Then I took up curling!

Doonrock: Several Frock Coats, in different colours, including an "over-the-top" outfit in Cream/White Shot-Silk!

My real point is that, "just" putting on colourful patterned trousers does not do the business.

A little thought and co-ordination is required. At the risk of being labelled sexist. The Distaff side is usually better at this than us blokes.

Dont throw away the Frock Coat, with the new sponsors they may become compulsory.

Sprinter ~ It's more likely to become "de rigueur" to throw two stones at the same time!

I get all the opportunities I need to wear navy blue or black. I like happy colours when I am curling.  As you all know I have been quite oblivious to that “fashion statement” made by most male curlers – a few week ago I was surprised when John (?) Lesparance (sp?), Graeme Adam's lead introduced himself to me at Greenacres. We had played against one another at the Uniroyal in Toronto in '72. He didn't recognise my face, but the big hair and loud pants were a bit of a give-away.  So I speak with authority when I let you all in to the next big thing after these Loudmouth arrivistes. New Zealand rugby tops – have you seen Canterbury, a pale pink and sky blue horizontal stripe. My tip for the top.
