Bobs blog today poses the question "in which Bond film did curling take place" ?
being something of a Fleming fan I did not have to look this one up but it reminded me that the Beatles toyed with the game in one of their films ( inevitably repeated this forthcoming Christmas )
Answers on a postcard please........

Do forum members have any other examples of curling in the movies or indeed curling as a plot line etc.?

I have been searching for a short Canadian film "Deadspiel". It is 8 minutes long and has the tag line "The Best Curling Zombie Movie Ever Made". It is probably the only one too.

There is a trailer / interview on youtube     <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmwNcCwkDmg" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmwNcCwkDmg</a>

Of course there is "Men with Brooms" which has Leslie Neilson (airplane and loads of other spoof movies) in it. 2002

Men with Brooms was also made into a Canadian sitcom series in 2010. It had 12 episodes and used the ice rink as the central hub of activity.

There is a new film "Kong Curling", which is a Norwegian comedy. 2011

The sitcom was DREADFUL, I think I only sat through 2 episodes.  The movie was OK though and featured (and made by)  Paul Goss of 'Due South' fame.
I have a copy of the film if anyone wants a loan !

Some Kiwis have filmed a documentary about "the last bastion of outdoor curling". Not sure about that, but apart from that, pity it's (so far) scheduled to be shown in NZ only...

they do have a crowd funding going to make it to the Edinburgh Film Festival: https://www.pledgeme.co.nz/Crowd/Details/107
