Not a mention about it anywhere.  Did it actually take place and if so and anyone here went to it what happened and who won what?

Yeah, it did take place, & details will go on RCCC website later today....no great surprises about Award Winners - I'll keep you on ice (!) & in suspenders till then.
Oh, & I didn't win anything in the Raffle either Angry
Alison Walker was a very good MC, Guest Speaker went down very well.
Meal at hotel was ok rather than brilliant, drinks pricey so I don't think anyone could AFFORD to overindulge?
Jill Donald (Forfar CDO) has some pics on her Facebook website.
Now for the AGM  Grin

The details of the awards are now on the RCCC website.

I get the impression Bob was not there?

The Dinner can be expensive to attend for those of us on retirement income - I couldn't justify spending about £200 to attend.  I will be at the AGM - weather permitting 'cos any more like today and I'll be drowned! - thanks to a kind offer of a lift from a gentleman on SCF

Sadly not John, although I would have liked to have been there. I hear from friends who went along that it was a good night. Sandy has the rights of it. Funds are very tight these days.

Congratulations to the winners.

And I do like Jim Robb's photo which won the photo competition!

The sum of it. We pay, they get the benefit.

Bob, for the man you are, you should have had a freebie at the top table. To me, it is obvious, they don't value you. They don't value me either, so there we go.

Well I hope everyone enjoys their awards but i am confused? I thought the Diamond award was voted for by the populace, ie us and I KNOW that many many people voted for the 4 Nations team that came to England so how did David Pattulo and Iain Baxter of Murrayfield Curling Ltd. win? Nothing aginst a fair win and maybe it is but did so many people vote for them? Or am I totally confused and too drunk this evening and have everything wrong?

Iain baxter of Murrayfield Curling Ltd sponsored the award-maybe that's why he is in the picture

Steve, The 4 Nations team did not even make the cut off which means that not only Saturday's worthy winner got more " nominations" , two other nominees also received more "nominations" than the 4 Nations. I'm not at all sure of how it works, but the deciding committee seem to have a lot of influence in choosing the three who go forward. It does seem possible for a nominee to get a high number of nominations but still not be selected. I'm not suggesting that is what happened in this case but trying to find out the actual numbers involved is "difficult"

it would be a severe disappointment if they did not listen to the populace and will distance them so much further! surely they must realise that they dont 'own' curling and are just the custodians? well, i assume that they know this anyway?  4th is an insult and I cannot truly believe that the fantastic representation from North of the border did not come even fourth. Perhaps they never made the cut because they were not 'sent' by the RCCC? Just saying - eh after several more glasses!

Steve, there is a point at which another glass could cloud your judgement and possibly lead you to the wrong conclusion, I don't think you have reached that point.....yet!

Saying things like this is why people get p*ssed off at you. Not the thing about Bob, i agree about that.

But more, the turning of the converstaion onto yourself, then complaining, again, about the same thing, again.

We got the point already.

My apologies, I didn't mean to upset you. It was an innocent remark, I thought.
