yippee it's nearly the start of the golf season.

We already have a cut price golf trip to the States arranged for the later part of the year, (Can't wait)
In the mean time we like to try and get round as many new and different Scottish courses as possible.
So with the forum having many great golfers on it i thought i would take this opportunity to see if anyone knows what deals are around for visitors at their home courses this coming season.

Bring on another season of frustration and hair pulling

the two are not mutually exclusive and you'll find most curlers are golfers, personally I think golf is a far better activity. This is the "off the ice" section so as most rinks think about closing for the summer we'll need something to gripe about and it'll give the odd member a chance to theorise about the speed of the green rather than the speed of the ice for a change.

Odin - check out Portpatrick and Stranraer if you have never been and stay at one of the McMillan hotels.

Not wishing to take anything away from McMillan Hotels but at Drimsynie you pay for your Curling, bowling, swimming, skating, snooker and golf at the same paypoint - it is only a nine hole course though.

For a day out Millport is one of the most scenic courses in Scotland,  seems to be in pretty good condition, is rarely busy and has just appointed new catering staff.

Sorry meamegs Grin

Cheers , invicta, sandy and DA. We will probably try and make a long weekend of it down the Stranraer direction. I was checking out the North West Castle, i believe they are £68 B&B and golf. Will give bunker a look as well. Thanks guys

Kayak & Mountain Bike time for me, i'm afraid.

Going on a course next week with some of the world's best - Tom Parker and Max Bilbao for those that want to know // are in the know - to learn how to become an effective river leader.

Thus, by the end of summer I'll be offering trips down some of Scotland's more docile rivers - The Orchy and the upper Tay, for example!

Time to reseal the dry suit!

Nice start to the season Lead. I played a round at Crieff for the 1st time in a few years on Sunday and can say it was in very good condition for the time of year. well worth a game if anyone is passing that way.

Oh dear!

I have just started on my first placement, working with additional needs kids at a group that runs on both Saturday and Sunday.

So, I will not be able to row, and I most certainly will not be strolling about a golf course trying to find where that little white dimpled ball has gone, even though it is in rough about 20 yards from the tee (at the 6th attempt to hit the ruddy thing, and with the divet traveling further still!).
So, spare a thought for me, working, whilst you lot all do what you damn well like, be it whacking/mining divets out the ground, or taking it easy, lying in and farting in bed.

P.S.  I hate golf!!
