Yes John, some of us are very interested in the minutes of last month’s Board meeting.
Particularly around the Vernon issues.  I quote from these minutes,

“6. Primary Issues
A] Vernon : Update
The board received a written update on meetings undertaken by the Chairman and CEO and progress since the last meeting. In the absence of an accommodation between the parties the matter is now with the Conduct Panel. Their response is awaited.”

Now that the Conduct Panel have suggested that Gail Munro should consider herself vindicated, how do you think the Board will react to that at their meeting tomorrow?

Will we ever know what accommodations  they required  for it not to go back to the Conduct Panel? Will we ever be told the about the conditions Derek Brown declared before his ‘statement’ could be published? Why did Derek Brown completely change his mind and withdraw his complaint? Has the corner of the axminster carpet been lifted already?

Quoting from the Panel’s report....."Any intelligent observer can read the report for themselves and draw their own conclusions. It is difficult to see that any new facts of any significance could emerge for further enquiry."

Can we now trust the Board to make an intelligent decision and draw this whole expensive episode to a conclusion?

Will we have to wait another month for the results of tomorrow’s meeting?

I was not suggesting that no-one cared, rather that there wasn't much new. But then the minutes never tell us much, it is a bit like a bus timetable decided well beforehand, confirmed at a meeting and -- at the last possible moment -- released to the public, with no guarantee that a bus will actually appear at any stated time.

Will we have to wait another month for the results of tomorrow’s meeting?

Probably. Almost certainly. Definitely. You can put your money on it! But then, the minutes are like an OLD bus timetable.

I suppose the problem for the RCCC now is this: if they issue a full apology to Gail and Lynday, they are in effect admitting that Derek Brown had made a mistake. Not that he did, because he apologised (with conditions), changed his mind, withdrew his complaint -- hell, what is all the fuss about? Fairness, that's what. Two ladies were accused of something they had not done, no apology has been forthcoming, and that's not fair at all.

Any intelligent observer will soon realise that this is an old bus timetable -- but where is the bus!

I contacted the RCCC on another matter today and mentioned to them that the link was down.

They are aware that the link is down.  The problem is with Sportfocus, who I think host the RCCC site (we are getting perilously close to the bit where my brain shuts down here Smiley).  The problem should be resolved presently.

I must say in passing that I find the staff in the RCCC office most receptive to the odd phone call about issues like these.

Thanks G83, and thanks RCCC for trying. I see Curlingzone is down too (and has been for a while).

The minutes of the June meeting of the RCCC board can be found here:

There seems to be some notes missing from it and it really doesn't say much new, but I suppose that has nothing to do with me now. The AGM has also overtaken these minutes, so wait and see what the next minutes say.

The most reliable information I have is that the curling rink is to remain closed/scrapped/demolished.

If anyone knows of John Miller who was on the '93 Tour to Canada he might have the answer to Letham Grange - he stayed very close to it.

Asked about the possible return of an ice rink to the hotel, Mr Le Friel says he is keeping an open mind, but is aware that the investment would be substantial.
