For a few weeks there, every time I tried to look at this forum all I got was a blank screen. Did anyone else have this problem?

Any ideas what (might have) happened??

I occasionally have a blank screen too. Where I live broadband is substandard and I'm pretty sure the problem is caused by too many people using too few connections! It usually improves after a few minutes, even seconds.

This has happened to me before.

I have usually tried a couple of solutions with a certain amount of success.

1. Clean out the Cookies, History etc. (I use CCleaner)
2. Type in the, basic, Link again.

Hi Folks,

A complete blank screen is pretty unusual for a forum error, on the system we use for the forum anyway. I doubt very much we are getting anywhere near enough traffic for the server to hang when your browser requests the website and if happening regularly over a few weeks as in D Thirds situation its even more unlikely (I'm assuming your other regular web visits to other sites at the same time were all fine ?)

I'll have a look around the forum error reports and see if anything shows up there, and see if the website hosts have had any downtime recently but they tend to be online 100%

Thanks Racehost. To make things clear from my point of view, when my attempted connection "hangs" I try other sites and usually can't get to them either, hence my suspicion that my broadband connection is to blame....

I tried everything, still nothing,  but other sites were ok.

Yes I didn't exactly try every day (I'm not THAT desperate!  Grin), but certainly I tried regularly to see if it would work and it was just a blank screen every time. The address was in the box at the top, so it was coming to here (or somewhere associated).

It's probably just my ancient computer which must be 8 or 9 by now.

hi again,
I had a look but couldnt really see anything glaring which would cause blank screens, just one of those things, next time maybe turn it off then back on again and see if that cures it  Grin

Post up here if it happens again once you are able to connect to the site again, and I'll maybe have better luck.'
