I will not be putting any in the post - first stone I swept and the shaft split.  Alloy shaft works fine - I think it's a standard 1 inch aerial pole but I'll need to check - buying the shaft locally would seriously save on postage!

That's what happened with mine from canada - fibre glass is just not man enough. Even gaffertape is not up to the job  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Alloy sounds good though - I wonder whether carbon fibre is available/up to the job!

PS. Will next be up in Scotland at
Hamilton (4 Nations weekend)
Greenacres (English Nationals - Feb 5-8)
Hamilton (Scottish Seniors Finals)

OK - unless I post one to Grap which you can try I'll catch up with you at one of these weekends.

Hey Sandy it has arrived and I must say it is a very nice piece of work, nicely made and light.  I will try it next week and if I can get it to McWomble I will let him, among others try it, for strength and ease of use.  I can already confirm that it is light and easy to put together.  It is Alloy, unpainted currently but soon to be English Red and white and 25 inches long when broken down (perfect for small case) and 48.5 inches when put together.  All I need now is ice to play on Smiley  Off to see when the rink opens Smiley

A genuine thanks for sending it Sandy, a few more drams coming you way Smiley

Went to Metal Supermarkets today to try and get 1" 1/8" alloy tube and bar - failed miserably.  It appears that the parent company are Canadian.  I'll continue though.
