In order to head off 'awkward' questions at the AGM, the RCCC have decided to ask for applications, from its members to play in next years 4 Nations.
A good thing one may think, but they seem able to shoot themselves in the foot yet again.
The application form is on their website under competitions and then not the 4 nations tab but the 'Entry Forms' tab.
There does not seem to be any other mention of this anywhere on their website.
It would appear that the only 'public' reference to this that the RCCC has made is:-
Calling all @rccccurling members - want to participate in the 4 Nations International? Entry form available here http://bit.ly/mAxTlf
where was this - their TWITTER page
Just like their 'call for players' last year it seems to be hidden.
Applications to be in for 30th October.

It will be interesting to see if i get through the ballot (if there are too many applications)

Can't be there Sandy, but would love to get a complete/total/categorical affirmative answer to the question
"Apart from weather conditions, can the Grand Match committee confirm that everything is in place and all plans cleared with all appropriate authorities"

Grin I think you may stand a very good chance Sprinter. After all, with the average age of a member being, i'm guessing here, but probably over 50, and with less than 50% of the membership registering an email address (i'm guessing again) we are not the most computer literate group. Announcing this on a Twitter page is definitely going to have a big impact Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

They are trying ~ Let's give them credit for it.

After all, the Competitions Section is the logical place to put it.

RCCC have obviously been listening to us.  4nations and 2013 Canada are both on the RCCC front page now.

I have one for you Sandy - How are the 'public vote' prizes decided and awarded at the end of the year at the presentations? I know Murreyfield won a view but who voted for them. the reason I ask this is that i KNOW that the 4 nations team received many more votes - SO if they are not taking notice of the public votes and decide amongst themselves why call it a public award?
