Great idea - well done Michael McStrikael !!

Great curling

Great crack

Great umpiring

Great next step would be RCCC endorsement with winners' reward being pass to the Scottish finals. The test would justify the reward, and generate interest/participation.........

Couldn't agree more.

Always a treat to visit Forfar, I'm a big fan of what Mike has achieved there.  Disappointing that Perth were unable to provide a team, I suppose with so few curlers and such a long way to travel.....

Aye nae doot they (Perth) read the long range weather forecast and expected blizzards in the far north.

Also in original post forgot to compliment the catering team at Forfar for a job well done, great meal on Saturday night.

A further thought is that an excuse the RCCC might come up with not endorse as an entry route to the Scottish finals is that some teams are mixed, eg the John Hamilton team that puts us out. Solution to that is to let the teams decide which Scottish they want to use the ticket for, and substitute accordingly. Nae bother if you just open your mind !!

Surely a European Champions Superleague Bonspiel is the way to go.

I would point out though, the team that won it in Forfar were NOT a super league team, they are players from Forfar brought in to make up the number of teams. I think it would have to be a bona fide super league winning team that gets any bigger prize than the NSL trophy.

As one of said winning team - we were put together the night before to help the competition and hope that this was noted and not thought of as a group of ringers.  My team won the 'B' division last year and we are 2 B division teams combined so we do play Super League.   So not a bona fide Super league team, but our intention was in good spirits.   Glad you guys enjoyed you visit though, shame a couple of ice rinks were to up themselves to attend.

GMW79

You were not the only last minute rink - we were too, the S/L winning rink from our rink called off at the last minute so we were drafted in - two past individaul winners (both skips, different rinks), and three others over the weekend - again all from different rinks from last years league teams. Never played before together as a team but had great fun, often inmteresting to play with people you're used to playing against.

My point is your team was representative of the obvious strength in the Forfar s/league set-up, congratulations to you all on a well earned victory.
