This may be part of the problem of having to enter the Scottish and Scottish Juniors at such an early date. In the past (10 yeares or so ago) it was in Earely November which gave teams a chance to form or get together following the initial weekend curling events. Making a commitment to joining and playing with a team or a bunch of curlers you may not know well or get on with at the end of a season when you may not even play together until September or October is a stab in the dark for some. It must decrease the number who might other wise enter.
It will be interesting for instance in the Juniors how many enter Greenacres and Kinross this year in comparison with the number of teams that have entered the Scottish Juniors.
While it may have been a good idea 6 or 8 years ago to have early entry maybe the entry date might be adjusted or changed for next season.
I don't think there is any way it can be made later due to the need to book the ice. And I know if I was part of an ice rink I would want to know if I was to leave a weekend free for RCCC use, rather than sell the ice, as soon as possible.
I don't really see the problem with the early entry to be honest.
