so it more of a spray than a flood right

Why not cut the frost off with the ice king, would work better would it not

hopefully next year we'll get it out but I'm the only one who has used the iceking and I'm not there/available at the times where it can used. Yes you are right SJK but until times when I can show the guys we''ll continue for now as we have done.

I think that if you guys are suffering from frost then the best position for yourselves would be to use cold water pebbles with a coarse size head to shock the frost, then use an ice king for a scrape.  This will usually lift the frost and also brighten up your rinks.  If you guys need to do this at the end of the night because you wont have time the following morning then try increasing the ice temperature over night to help since you have no heating. The best dehumidifier you have is your ice, try to use it best you can. In respect to your water to solve the grease problem, bearing in mind money always plays a part, I think you could start with the cheapest option of a small D.I cylinder just for you pebble water alone.  This would be very helpful when changing over and would give a great benefit to your game ice.

I think I'll stay out of this one -- I hate flipovers! Unless you have a pad installed by and maintained with clean water (especially when using the resurfacer during/after skating), the usual pebble-cut system will simply take too long.

I got to take issue with this PM, IIB was offering you some sound advice here.

If you don't scrape when it needs done are your Curlers happy with greasy ice.... I don't think so.... Yes the ice is a big improvement on what it was before but how do you stand if someone slips and causes themselves a serious injury is the rink insured for this.

If my ice was greasy and difficult to grip with curling shoes I would not be allowing curlers to play

ROFPML   ,  SJK  I think you have misread my posts , it clearly states I am the only one who has used an ice king. I also stated that at the only available times in which we can scrape I am not there at the rink due to my schedule and other commitments. I know IIB was offering good sound advice and my last comment had a wink on it , surely that gave the game away that I knew he was giving good friendly advice but the cheeky monkey knows my situation. SJK I think you got the wrong end of the stick here ( or is it a curling cue ) I apologise if I had not made it clear enough in previous posts , afterall I may come to your goodself for advice one day.

The Phantom Nuisance, there appears to be only one answer to your problem!

Delegate

Teach someone else to use the Ice King and then step down, as, if you cannot be there at the only time that the job can be done, then you can't do that Job.

However I have not said "Give up the Job" ~ Just step down and reassign the duties.

Wee Eddie   in one of my previous posts I said  until time  I get a chance to show the guys it won't be used. Due to my schedule and other work commitments I am not available to show them at the only available time  when we have time to do such things. You are right though if I'm not there the other guys should be able to do it but like I said they don't know how to at the moment.
